Who we are

With everything we do, we deliver efficiently, with high quality and with great velocity. Our frictionless delivery capability drives down costs and drives up value. Yep, you heard it correctly; we are a consulting firm looking to drive down costs. Gone are the days of run away projects, DayNine is in business to deliver customer success, nothing else.

The co-founders of DayNine were part of the founding team at Ramos & Associates, PeopleSoft’s #1 rated implementation partner and recipients of The San Francisco Business Times’ fastest growing company award in 1996. We will combine our expertise in growing and running a successful consulting company to deliver business results to our Workday customers. We are stronger because of our rich past. We share Workday’s commitment to ongoing innovation, efficiency and results.

As the leap from mainframe to client server applications afforded PeopleSoft the opportunity to gain market leadership with a more functionally rich and less expensive ERP solution suite, the current leap to SaaS technology has presented another opportunity. An opportunity Workday is pursuing with the same vigor as PeopleSoft but with an even greater opportunity to deliver best in class functionality with an object oriented kernel and web services capabilities all wrapped in SaaS technology, thus reducing costs and increasing value.

DayNine Consulting is 100% committed to Workday’s world-class SaaS applications and its customers.

What we do

We bring the business expertise necessary to help redesign processes and normalize data. We call this phase Project Initiation and it includes the classic pre-implementation tasks of defining goals, scope and resource requirements. What makes us different is that we also help our clients define the measurements needed to determine return on investment for their project.

During the implementation, we focus not only on efficiently configuring Workday but on simultaneously transferring knowledge so that our clients understand how to maintain and improve their system. Knowledge transfer also empowers our clients to define and control the future of their business along side Workday. We call this phase the Business Process Prototype. The SaaS delivery model enables us to do this with a velocity never before possible.

After the implementation, the Post-Implementation Phase, we measure our success by the organization’s ability to use the system. This means more than training; it means communication, internal marketing and over the shoulder assistance with new job requirements. After go live, the components of return on investment are measured again and we grade our overall success.

How we do it

For Workday, we will again rapidly produce a fully-functioning system based upon our customer’s requirements while at the same time teaching them how to use their new system. This time days to live will be measured in weeks – not in months.

Here’s how we do it:

  • Step one: Create a base of real client data so that all future project work is based upon meaningful information. This is an important task in the project initiation phase.
  • Step two: The Business Process Prototype. Side by side with our client, we configure business processes based upon the data collected in step one. It is during this step that we learn requirements and apply them to the system – and our customer’s team learns Workday. The traditional process of writing up an extensive requirements document and doing a “fit-gap” is skipped. The new processes are built right into the system by both the client’s team and the DayNine team.
  • Step three: Test the business processes to see how well they meet the organization’s needs and modifying as needed. This is followed by the system rollout process where we’ll help our customers deal with the changes created by Workday. The end result is faster time to value and a customer who is able to stand on their own.
